Basic Information

Usagi Tsukino is not the type of person who’s expected to be a hero. She get’s horrible grades in school, loves to eat food, and is obsessed with boys. She sounds like a typical teenage girl, however she’s the one and only Sailor Moon.

 

She lived her past life as Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom along with her mother (Queen Serenity) and her pets (Luna and Artemis.) She fell in love with a man named Endymion, the Prince of Earth.

 

Prince Endymion went to the moon to warn Princess Serenity about Queen Beryl’s deadly plans to destroy the Moon Kingdom. She began her romance with Endymion there, however they didn’t have much time to be together. Queen Beryl and her slaves had already begin attacking the Moon. Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion both died from Beryl’s attacks, however Queen Serenity saved everyone by using the silver crystal, which ended her life.

 

Fourteen years later Usagi Tsukino saw a bunch of kids torturing a poor little cat with a band-aid on her head. She helped rescue the kitty, and herself. The cat she found was Luna.

 

Luna woke up Sailor Moon by giving her the ability to transform into Sailor Moon and use attacks against Queen Beryl’s monsters. Luna became the guide for the Sailor Scouts for the rest of the show.

 

Sailor Moon stands for love and justice, and won’t give up easily against enemies. At first she seems hesitant against monsters, however throughout the show she gains more courage, strength, and powers. She also meets the love of her life, Tuxedo Kamen.

 

Usagi and Mamoru (Tuxedo Kamen) don’t get along very well in the first season. They both have no idea who their true identities are, therefore in person act normal. Mamoru treats Usagi like a little child, and she acts like one towards him.

 

Eventually they realize each others true identities and fall in love. Unfortunately, Usagi quickly loses Mamoru to Queen Beryl because she brainwashes him later.

Outside of fighting, Usagi is a remarkable friend who cares about everyone. She is always trying to fix relationships between couples, or set people up. She enjoys playing cupid.

 

Her best friend during season 1 is named Naru. They did almost everything together, however Usagi finds new friends who are the Sailor Scouts.

 

During the second season, Sailor Moon R, the audience finds out that Usagi is in fact Neo Queen Serenity. Neo Queen Serenity is the future Queen of Crystal Tokyo, and she is married to King Endymion. The two have a child together named Usagi (or Chibi-Usa.)

 

Usagi’s relationship grows between everyone throughout the show, especially Mamoru and Chibiusa.
