Seiya Kou first appeared in episode 173 of the Japanese Sailor Moon Series. He was only in the last season, however he is well known as “Sailor Star Fighter.”
He came to earth in search for Princess Kakyuu, who had disappeared from his destructed planet along with the other two Sailor Starlights.
He formed a band with Taiki and Yaten called the “Three Lights.” This band had great success really quickly. Fans (including the Inner Senshi) were absolutely in love with them. Little did the fans know that they were actually women.
Seiya is a women disguised as a man in the show. Their gender can be quite unclear, especially since in one episode you see Seiya without his shirt on and he’s built as a male. The word around is that they’re women, and that only makes sense since they turn into women when they transform.
Seiya has a mini relationship with Usagi. Luckily for him, Usagi’s boyfriend had left to go study in America for the year. He first met Usagi in the park outside their movie set. Usagi had no idea who he was, which probably caught his eye to begin with.
Eventually Seiya set up a date with Usagi, however she had no idea it was a date. Usagi kept reminding him that she had a boyfriend, however Seiya didn’t really care. He was bothered by the fact that Mamoru was hurting Usagi so much. He fell in love with Usagi right before he found out her true identity.
Usagi went on the Starlight-fan plane ride because she had received a mysterious invitation from one of Galaxia’s workers. Seiya was trapped to his chair when he saw Usagi transform into Enternal Sailor Moon. He was shocked, and a little heart broken. Sailor Moon had technically been their enemy since they wanted different things. The Starlights wanted to protect Princes Kakyuu by destroying all of the monsters, however Sailor Moon wanted to return them to their normal human forms.
Once the starlights found out Usagi’s true identity, Yaten and Taiki forbade them to see each other. This shattered his heart into pieces. Since he’s technically a women, this showed another gay relationship in the show. That didn’t matter to fans, because we were all hut that Seiya and Usagi couldn’t even be friends.
Even though the two were banned from seeing each other, they still managed to meet up once or twice. Seiya stayed with Usagi until the end of the season. He helped fight with her during the battle with Galaxia, and he was one of the last surviving Sailor Soldiers in the end.
He said his farewell to Usagi and her friends at the last episode of the Sailor Moon series. He basically states that he loved her, and will never forget her. Usagi, being the brain she is, didn’t understand and took it as being friends for ever. Seiya then returned to being a star, and therefore ending his existence on earth. |
