Sailor Moon RPG: Another Story

Game Title: Sailor Moon RPG Another Story
Platform: SNES
Genre: Role playing game
Mode: 1  player
Released: September 22, 1995

Many of the Sailor Moon games are known for being fun arcade-type games, however this one changed its style. In this game you start off as Usagi, and quickly join the other Sailor Senshi and help battle against new and old enemies. The favorite villains and characters return from the series for a second round to defeat Sailor Moon. You may think that Queen Beryl, the Black Moon or Witches 5 are behind the evil deeds this time, but your wrong. New enemies travel in time in order to change the future or the world which bring back evil villains that Sailor Moon has already defeated.

I personally liked fighting the enemies from the show for a second time through a different story, however I found that some enemies in the game had no place in the story, they were just there to add more time to the game. For example, Rubeus just randomly appears for a quick battle at one point during the story then disappears forever. If the creators of the game had improved on those parts more the game would be perfect.

For and SNES game the graphics were fairly good. The characters were well animated, and the attacks were especially good. I found that Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter attacks were the best graphics wise. Unfortunately, Sailor Saturn only had one magical attack that didn't even exist in the show.

Ratings

Plot: 8/10

Sometimes the plot got confusing, but in general it was very fun and interesting.

Graphics: 9/10

Graphics were terrific for an SNES game. I didn't get any headaches while playing it which is a plus!

Gameplay: 10/10

The battles, maps, and story was never repetitive. I enjoyed every moment.

Difficulty: Hard

I had to train a lot before adventuring on quests since the enemies were so strong.

Overall: 9/10

Overall this was an amazing game. Once I forget what to do in the story I'll play it again, and perhaps even create a walkthrough!
