Basic Information

Rei Hino was the fourth Sailor Scout to be awoken in the series. She appears early in the first season of Sailor Moon as a employee at the Hikawa Shrine with her perverted grandfather.

 

She is known as the physic girl who can predict the future by using fire. Rei is very spiritual and impressed Usagi and Ami when they met.

 

Sailor Mars was awoken to help Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury in their fights against Queen Beryl’s monsters. Sailor Mars was the last Sailor Scout to be woken for a while and proved herself the strongest until then.

 

Rei sometimes comes off as quite mean when you see her fighting with Usagi, but it all comes from her friendship towards Usagi. At the end of the first season, she tells Usagi that fighting with her as fun and she didn’t mean any harm. These last words to Usagi meant a lot to her and showed how strong their friendship was.

 

Rei’s ability to predict the future can be positive and negative for her. At the beginning of Sailor Moon S (the third season), she had a recurring dream of everyone in the world dying, including her friends. Her dream turned out to be the same vision that Setsuna had later in the season.

 

Her visions of the “silence” approaching demonstrates how much she worried about her friends and other. In fact, she has risked her life many times for others.

 

In the second season, Sailor Moon R, she jumped in front of Koan to protect her from Sailor Jupiter’s kick. Koan was one of the four black moon sisters, and couldn’t understand why Sailor Mars did such a thing. Koan was looking for love and friendship, and Rei taught Koan what a relationship really meant which turned Koan into a normal women.

 

Rei is probably the most realistic inner senshi in the group because she’s always trying to protect the world. Usagi never wants to continue the battle because people she cares about get hurt, however Rei just wants to finish the fight without grief.

 

Rei is always looking out for her grandpa and workers at the Hikawa Shrine. She works hard from day to day keeping the Shrine successful. She worries in several episodes about her grandpa’s actions towards little girls and boys, but still loves him anyways.

 

She doesn’t play a big part in the beginning Sailor Moon SuperS, but neither does the other Inner Senshi.

 

All of her attacks consist of fire and are quite powerful. She also has an attack of her own which is the disappearance of evil spirits. This move tends to stall any person or enemy that has any negative energy inside them.

 

Rei has big dreams on becoming famous with singing, song writing, modeling, and being a loving wife.
